Kerchief Bibs, Part II

The kerchief bibs from the Purl Bee post are quick and easy, but this version is even quicker. I found the tutorial on this blog.

These bibs are made with fabric from old boxer shorts, pajama bottoms and scraps from the remnant bin. For extra absorbency, I added an inner layer of flannel from a pair of thread-bare pajama bottoms. Boxer shorts, incidentally, are great for this kind of thing - they've been washed a hundred times and the fabric is super soft.

I think Billy likes them.

Kerchief Bibs

Billy is a drooly baby. He goes through five or six bibs a day. I didn't think bibs were worth sewing by hand, so I have a pile of hand-me-down terry cloth bibs that serve well.  But what's the point of a cute wardrobe, when it's always covered up by a terry cloth bib?

Kerchief bibs are quick and easy to make. You can turn one out in 15 minutes. And all you need is scraps. There are many ways to make one, and I tried out several different versions I found online.

This first version comes from the Purl Bee.

I made this set of three with Lotta Jansdotter prints. I love her style and I buy her fabric whenever I see it on sale or in the remnant pile, so I have a good stash. This next set is made with fabric from old boxer shorts and pajama bottoms:
